BUY YOUR TICKETS”

SIX THINGS YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Ready to get involved?  Consider the following great options:

  1. Purchase your Tickets by April - head to the GiveSmart Microsite to purchase your Auction Tickets.
  2. Donate Wine for the Wine Auction.  Members of our School Community and Businesses donate wine and spirits.  We open up online bidding for the donated items.  The winning bidder chooses to have the item delivered to their table at the auction to enjoy, or delivered to them to take home.  Are you a wine club member and have extra to donate or do you have a connection with a local winery who can donate cases to our Annual Spring PTA Fundraiser?
    • We need your wine (and spirit) donations! The wine can be any varietal and should be greater than $35 in value. Proceeds go to GB and you get to enjoy a great bottle of wine at dinner. It’s a WIN WIN!
    • Please complete this form to donate your Wine or Spirits.  Wine Auction Chair: Hillary Frank & Joyce Kim
  3. Host an Auction Party Grab a friend (or two or three) – a group of hosts makes planning more fun, you can share the expense, and everyone can bring their unique expertise and personality to the event – don’t feel like you have to do it alone.  The Benefit committee can pair you up – if you have an idea and are looking for another family to host with you – just let us know. Parties can take place any time starting after the Benefit. It doesn’t have to be an actual “party” – we are looking for any great social get-togethers (from book clubs to cocktails, hiking, to the spa, to a community service engagement, and everything in between, Holiday Party, parent & Kid Dance Party, Poker Tournament, BBQ, Back to School Brunch, Yoga and Brunch, Zumba Party, Mamas & Margaritas, Trivia Party, Kentucky Derby Party, Bollywood Dinner Party, Painting Class, Progressive Dinner Party, Go Kart Racing, Baking or Cooking Lessons, etc). Sign up here to host a Party.  Auction Party Chair Danielle Ambler.
  4. Volunteer:  The Auction needs the help of many, many hands, hearts, and great minds- and your time is so appreciated. Please see our list of volunteer opportunities on Classroom Parent.
  5. Donate to our Class Baskets: Help us Build our CLass Baskets for the Silent Auction! Each basket is filled with goodies for each grade level- a fun way to donate to the Auction.  View the themes for each grade and wishlists and purchase items here.  Please reach out to the Auction Baskets Chair with any questions: Oksana Trapeznikova
  6. Sponsor the Event- Families and businesses help to fund teacher tickets and event expenses, we are grateful for each dollar of sponsorship. Click here to learn how you can be a sponsor and the many benefits of sponsorship. Contact Auction Chair: Bianca Fischli

Auction FAQ

The annual Spring PTA auction is our community celebration benefiting the PTA budget to implement educational programs for Gardner Bullis students. With shrinking state financial support, Los Altos schools do not receive sufficient funds to maintain many programs and activities that would enrich our students' education. As a result, our PTA must provide the financial and volunteer support to extend the curriculum provided by the Los Altos school district.

Our auction happens every Spring and is the PTA's largest fundraiser and community building event. This adult-only event includes cocktails, dinner, silent and live auction, and dancing. All Gardner Bullis parents, teachers, and staff are invited to attend.

Last year, the auction raised over $300,000.

Your donation goes directly to Capital improvements, community building events, and educational progams for our students, including:

  • Art/music/drama for grades K-3.
  • Computer technology and library materials
  • Science Fair and Living Classroom garden lessons for all grades.
  • Project Cornerstone, an anti-bullying program for all grades.
  • Field trips and classroom supplies for all grades.

The auction is presented by the Gardner Bullis PTA.

This year's auction takes place on April 20, 2024 from 5:30pm - 9:30pm

Enjoy a fun evening with other parents, sign up for auction parties and support our school! All proceeds go directly to Gardner Bullis. Each year, our school relies on this fundraiser to pay for technology, art, music, field trips, classroom libraries, classroom supplies and so much more!

There are many ways to help! Check Classroom Parent for sign-up lists.

The whole idea of Carnival is to express yourself , feel free and enjoy dancing and making the most of the biggest party in the world.  Costumes can include dressing up like a Samba Dancer (Great ideas that cross over/can be combined to create a fun look  are belly dancer/bollywood/1920s flapper costumes).  Think Bollywood gone tropical. Adherence to the auction theme is encouraged but entirely optional. Cocktail attire otherwise.

The Rio Carnival is an annual kaleidoscopic delight, rooted in the very fabric of Brazilian tradition. Partying is a sacred art in Brazil, and the Rio Carnival is the pinnacle of this time-honored tradition. Thrumming with the intoxicating rhythm of drums, the streets pack out for six days in a celebration of diversity. This exhilarating atmosphere of community and togetherness dates all the way back to 1723, when the first Rio Carnival took place. Each year, dancers, musicians and carros alegóricos (decorated floats) take to the streets, led by approximately 200 samba schools. These groups are formed by various Brazilian communities, who practice year-round. The top twelve samba schools have the added pressure of competition, with the winning squad being crowned the number one samba school in Rio. It is considered the biggest carnival in the world, with two million people per day on the streets.
