REGISTER FOR CAMPS & SPRING CLASSES

This week, your Los Altos Recreation Department is feeling kind of musical...that is to say, we have 5 music classes starting this week! There is piano for kids 4-5 and 5-7, violin classes, as well as guitar lessons for kids 7-10 and 10-13 years old.  This might be the jump start to a beautiful career-or perhaps a wonderfully enjoyable hobby-for your child.

We also have ice skating classes starting up for kids 3-5 and 6-12. Great fun!

To read about and register for all of our spring classes and summer camps, go to LosAltosRecreation.org and click on the photo of our SPRING 2013 RECREATION GUIDE.

May 11 - Pathways Run/Walk

9:00 am at Westwind Community Barn

27210 Altamont Rd  Los Altos Hills

It will be a HOOT!  Join flocks of runners and walkers for the 12th Annual Los Altos Hills Pathways Run/Walk.  This year we are raising money to install owl houses at Westwind Community Barn. Los Altos Hills Parks and Recreation is encouraging the use of natural predators to control unwanted rodents rather than poisons which kill owls, bobcats, coyotes as well as endanger pets and children. A family of owls can devour five thousand rodents in a year! There will be hooting contests, owl costume contest and a special owl t-shirt for all those that pre-register for the event, as supply lasts. Bring your owl wings and fly this year at this fun, local run and walk event.

This annual event begins at the Westwind Community Barn, runs through the Byrne Preserve and extends into the Los Altos Hills Pathways system.  The run features a 5K and 10K Pathways Run/Walk and a 1-Mile Fun Run.  To register, volunteer or for more information contact Sarah Gualtieri 650-947-2518sgualtieri@losaltoshills.ca.gov or visit the event website atwww.lahpathwaysrun.org.
