Hello GB Community,
Junior Olympics was amazing! I have never seen anything like it before with such school spirit and pride. Go Grizzlies! I would like to congratulate all of our student-athletes for their participation and best effort in all of their events. It was clear that each student trained hard and took their role seriously. We are most defiantly a small but mighty school! I would also like to thank and give a huge SHOUT OUT to Laura S, Dee S, Amanda B, Tara R, and Mr. Ortman for all they did to make JOs so special for our community.
CAASPP
State assessments for 3rd-6th grade continue this week. Again, please be mindful of ensuring students receive enough sleep and a nutritious breakfast.
6th Graders off to Walden West
Next week our 6th graders will spend their week away at Science Camp in Saratoga. We are very excited for them and cannot wait to hear all about their adventures at Walden West! The teachers and I appreciate all of the parent drivers helping to get our group up and back. Hug a tree, good people!
California Distinguished School Award
On Wednesday, a small team of teachers and I are going to Los Angeles to represent the entire Gardner community and accept our California Distinguished School Award at a reception with the State Superintendent, Tom Torlakson. I am so proud of this staff and wish every single one of them could go to the reception. With that in mind, mark your calendar for our own celebration right here at Gardner for all to enjoy. Friday, May 11th at roughly 2:00 pm (right after the Spring Music Concert) all students and parents are invited to join us for a dance celebration. We will have music and cake, and we will reveal our award. I hope to see you all there since this award belongs to every single one of us!
