Hello Gardner Community,

March 22nd is our Multicultural Fair, however, this year we are doing things a little differently.  First of all, we would like for students to come to school on Friday, March 22nd representing their country and/or heritage.  This could be in the form of a tee-shirt, specific colors, a hat, a hairstyle, or even an outfit.  We want to honor the great diversity of the families at Gardner Bullis all day long.  When selecting your students’ outfit, please be mindful that their outfits and shoes must be comfortable and recess/PE-friendly. Secondly, instead of having performances during the evening event, we are going to enjoy those performances during our Friday assembly.  From 8:30-9:00 am on Friday, March 22nd, please join us so you can enjoy those performances as well.  Lastly, the traditional parade will still be held during the evening fair but the rest of the evening will be time for enjoying the booths and visiting amongst each other.  We hope to see you all there!

Emergency Numbers Updated

If there are any changes with who you want us to call in the event of an emergency when we cannot get a hold of you, please come into the office to update your forms.  It is helpful for us to have several people to contact other than parents for those rare moments when parents are unavailable.

Video

We are excited to have some special visitors on campus the week of March

18th. All LASD school sites will have a media team visit, where they will be collecting staff, student, and parent interviews, as well as classroom video clips with the goal of creating a professional video to promote each of our schools, in addition to the district and special programs within the district. Please know that students without media release permission will be out of sight in any classroom footage.

Student Leadership

Student leaders have created a plan to help animals!  Please support their bake sale on March 15th in the morning before school (and after school if there are supplies left over).  All proceeds will help purchase products needed to make no-sew blankets for shelter cats and dogs during lunch recess on Wednesday, March 20th.  We need parent volunteers to provide baked goods for the bake sale AND to help supervise the blanket-making on the 20th.  If you are interested in supporting the cause, let us know!  The students are very excited to have such a part in helping our four-legged friends.

Nadia Oskolkoff, Principal
