Hello Gardner!
Thank you to all of the students and family members who helped make our fundraiser for Pets in Needa huge success! Friday’s bake sale raised $813.70! That is amazing and will not only provide the funds for blanket-making but give the students a choice to purchase toys or donate cash to the non-profit organization. What a sense of responsibility and philanthropy we are teaching our students! Next step: blanket making on Wednesday the 20th. Parents who would like to come and help are welcome to join us in the multi at lunch.
Author visit
On April 3rd, we are hosting New York Times bestselling author Margaret Peterson Haddix in the library. She has written many young adult fantasy series and children’s fiction titles and our 3rdthrough 6th-grade students will enjoy a presentation and have an opportunity to ask the author questions about her craft of writing and her books. There is nothing like this very up close and personal experience with a “real life” author for our students and is the perfect way to inspire their own creative spirit.
Library Web Page
Our new library page is live! Thank you to Sandy T. and Mrs. DeRego for their endless hours and attention to detail to see that our new website FULL of student resources is up and running. Last week, Mrs. DeRego gave a presentation to parents about the new resource and all next week she will be sharing the details with students. More information will also come home in the Thursday folder. You can find the new site under

I look forward to seeing you all at the multi-cultural fair next Friday.
