Good afternoon GB Community,
Thank you again to all who supported our very successful walk-a-thon last weekend. It was a wonderful day!
Gardner Gives Back
Gardner received a specific thank you for our work to package meals back in September:
“It is with great pleasure that we announce the destination of the Rise Against Hunger meals you helped package on 9/19/2019. A shipping container, holding 285,120 meals, has been sent to the Philippines for our partner International Care Ministries. If you happen to receive more than one of these announcements, your meals have gone to impact multiple partners.”
Here's one of the impact stories from a recipient of the RAH meals.
HALLOWEEN PARADE
This year, Halloween is on an early release Thursday so we will hold our parade right after lunch at 12:50. After the parade, students will be allowed to go home. If that is before dismissal time (K: 1:15; 1st-2nd: 1:25; 3rd-6th: 1:45) we ask that you sign your student out with his or her teacher first. All parents and family members are invited to join us for this annual tradition of showing off our costumes!
Speaking of costumes, students SHOULD NOT come to school in costume but instead, bring their costume in a bag. They will have an opportunity to get dressed at lunch.
Please, no gore, violent or costumes with weapons.
Save the Date: 12/4 @ Covington Elementary Library 6:00 – 8:00 pm Mindful Parenting. Please join us for a presentation by Roni Habib, founder of EQ Schools, on mindful parenting. In our fast-paced, hectic world, slowing down and being present in our parenting of children is even more critical. Roni delivers power messages with an entertaining style. This event is free to attend and is co-sponsored by the Covington and Gardner Bullis PTAs.
