Hello GB Community,

I have to share how proud I was of our group of teachers, students, and a parent who helped present at the school board last Monday evening. Our theme was “Building Community Across Grade-levels.” 6th graders: Derek, Nickaan, Lydia, Ateeya, Dev, Michelle, Katie, and Maya shared how 6th graders help with Morning Curbside, Fun Fridays, Kindergarten Yard, and the Zen Den. Parent, Margaret P., presented on Project Cornerstone and Ms. Loebner, Ms. Wharton, Ms. Tew, and Ms. Jordan shared how all teachers participate in teacher walkthroughs that promote learning and growing together. It was a Grizzly Greatness moment for sure!

Lunar New Year

In honor of this very special holiday, we are asking all staff and students to wear either their Grizzly Wear or red and yellow on Friday, January 24th. Let’s bring in the new year together! During Friday the 24th-morning assembly, there will be a presentation from some of our families. Join us if you can!

Multicultural Week!

Starting on Monday, January 27th through Friday the 31st, we will have a full week of multicultural celebrations. We will highlight and learn about a different part of the world each day of the week. Our own GB families will help with this by sharing their customs and knowledge of the particular region. This will, of course, lead to our much anticipated Multicultural Fair on Friday, January 31st at 5:00 pm! But first, join us in the morning during that Friday assembly to enjoy students dancing in their custom dress and with their traditional music.

I wish you and your family a lovely 4-day weekend and, if you so choose, a day of service-oriented activity on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Lurther King Jr. For child-friendly volunteering ideas, visit this website. We will see all of you next Wednesday.
