Hello Gardner Families,
By now, I am sure you have seen the letter from Superintendent Baier announcing the closure of our schools from Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 10.
I know that this is an incredibly challenging time as we are all concerned for the well-being of our loved ones, friends and neighbors.
Please be sure to practice social distancing and keep your children home to protect our community. Consult the CDC website for disease prevention information. While children are very low risk of serious illness from the virus, older adults and those with underlying health conditions are at risk of developing life-threatening complications from COVID-19. Students should stay home and minimize social contact as much as possible to keep caregivers and adult family members safe.
We are committed to providing an excellent education for every child during this unprecedented event. While your children will not be attending school on our campus, they will be attending virtual school during the school closure, with the exception of Spring Break (April 6-10). Teacher(s) will be in touch with all of their students regarding instructions to attend and participate in virtual school early next week. In these next few days, please be sure to give all our teachers the time and space they need to prepare for the distance learning experience ahead.
If your family needs a device and/or internet access, please let me know immediately so that I can ensure you receive what you need as soon as possible.
Gardner Bullis staff is here to help you. We know that our schools serve as an important community resource. Please email me with questions, concerns or if you need help and I will connect you to the assistance you need during this public health crisis. Also, our office will be open briefly on Monday if you want to call with your questions or need to stop by with questions.
Our community is strong, close-knit and caring. By joining together during this difficult and unprecedented time for our community and our nation, we can keep the public safe and healthy.
I will keep you updated on how our online learning is progressing!
Sincerely,
Nadia Oskolkoff, Principal
