Hello Gardner Bullis,

Thank you everyone who attended our Back to School  Night on Thursday.  It was nice to see our community  together visiting classrooms.  Also, thank you to the staff  and teachers who prepared classroom presentations for  the parents to enjoy.  It was a very successful evening.

Character Trait of the Month

Last month we focused on what it means to show empathy and this month we will focus on caring.

Trial Parking Lot Closure

This Thursday, September 7th our parking lot will be  closed ALL DAY.  This trial parking lot closure will  simulate what we will experience during the 8-10 weeks  of solar construction.  On Friday, September 8th at 8:45  we will hold a debrief meeting during the Coffee with the  Principal in the staff lounge.

Here are some things to be thinking about and  preparing for as we proudly move towards going  green and reducing our footprint:

                Carpool

                Walk or Wheel (WoW!)

                Walking buses

                Bike trains

Only 15 more days until construction begins

Hurricane Harvey

Now is a perfect time to teach our students to care and show empathy for others in need because of the devastating hurricane in Texas.  With input from our families and staff- we will be raising donations for the next few weeks to support:

  • Houston Classrooms,
  • Houston Food Banks, and
  • Houston SPCA (thank you SUTTON FAMILY!)

On Tuesday morning, you can donate to the Houston SPCA and enjoy a delicious muffin.  Please be on the look out for the table by the front of the school.  More information will come throughout the weeks as students and classrooms engage and create more ways to be a part of this meaningful process.  Thank you in advance for your support.

CPR/First-aid Certified

More than half of our GB staff is now CPR/First-aid certified! Last Saturday many of our staff members participated the certification process and we would like to thank our amazing PTA who supported this endeavor!

Looking ahead to October’s Coffee with the Principal

I have invited The City of Los Altos Hills to come and give a presentation on Family Emergency Preparedness.  Please join us on Friday, October 13th at 9:00 am.

Happy 3-Day Weekend!

Nadia Oskolkoff, Principal
