Dear Gardner Bullis Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!
It is an incredible honor to serve as the principal of Gardner Bullis. I began my teaching career in the Los Altos School District more than 20 years ago, and this community has always held a special place in my heart. Returning to Los Altos as a principal feels like a true full-circle moment, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an exceptional school community.
A Community Where Everyone Belongs
I believe schools are at their best when students feel a strong sense of belonging, educators feel supported, and families feel welcomed as true partners. When people feel connected, students thrive.
I am passionate about creating joyful learning environments where curiosity, creativity, and student voice are celebrated. I believe the elementary years are a time to nurture not only academic growth, but also confidence, resilience, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning. Through listening, collaboration, and being present throughout the school community, I work to foster a culture where every student, staff member, and family feels known, valued, and inspired to contribute.
Honoring What Makes Gardner Bullis Special
Gardner Bullis is a special neighborhood school, grounded in a strong sense of community, dedicated educators, joyful traditions, and a shared commitment to supporting every child. I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families as we celebrate the qualities that make this community unique and create meaningful learning experiences where every child can thrive.
A Little About Me
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bob, our two daughters, and our two dogs. Our oldest daughter is a student at the University of Colorado Boulder, and our youngest daughter is entering her senior year at Sequoia High School. I love reading, practicing yoga, riding my Peloton, cheering on the San Francisco Giants, and supporting the Michigan Wolverines – Go Blue!
Looking Ahead
My door is always open, and I look forward to the many opportunities ahead to listen, learn, and grow together as a community. I know 2026-2027 is going to be an incredible school year!
Warmly,

Ellen Kraska
