Beginning next week, April 26th-May 6 our students in grades two, three, four, five and six will be participating in the State of California’s STAR testing. For STAR testing schedule, click here. Please be sure your child is in school each and every day during the days/weeks of testing. Please be on-time, as students will not be permitted to join their class after the tests begin. I ask that all medical, dental and other appointments be scheduled either outside the school day during the weeks of testing or after the lunch hour. Be sure s/he is well-rested and well-fed in order to ensure best possible focus. I appreciate your staying involved in your child’s education…it’s truly one of the best ways to make Gardner Bullis School a very special place for children!
Registration for the 2011 season for the Covington Swim team will start on April 4th and will continue until May 27th for the spring session (or until capacity is reached) and until June 17th for the summer session (or until capacity is reached). Check out www.covingtoncritters.com for more information and registration forms.
Your children can enjoy a fun-filled evening watching the Japanese award-winning children’s movie “My Neighbor Totoro” and eating pizza and baked goods with their friends while also raising money to help support Japan. This special fundraiser will be held on Friday, April 1st from 6-8 pm and the suggested donation is $25 per child. A registration flyer for this event went home in last week’s Thursday folder and is also available in the office in the Movie Night mail slot. Please return the flyer with your payment to the office by Wednesday, March 30th. All proceeds will go to UNICEF/Japan. A special thanks to Spot Pizza for providing discounted pricing for this event!
