Friday’s Teacher Training Focused on Student Achievement
Research shows that inspired and informed teachers are the most important factor to driving strong student achievement. That’s why LASD invests in professional development for all teachers so they are trained in the latest and most effective educational strategies.
Last Friday, all LASD teachers participated in an array of courses to hone their teaching skills in literacy, science, math, and social studies. Experts worked with groups of first-year and experienced teachers alike. Following this coursework, our literacy, science, and math coaches provided ongoing expertise and support as teachers put their skills to work in the classroom. Teachers also collaborated in grade-level groups to refine classroom implementation.
We know in-service days can be challenging for our families. Thank you for your collaboration and partnership with us to provide the best education for your children. Click here for more information from Learning Policy Institute on professional development and its importance for student achievement.
