ThoughtExchange

Dear LASD Parents/Guardians,

As the primary stakeholders in our schools, we want to learn about your perspectives on school overcrowding and a new school site.

In a week or so, LASD will be launching a tool called ThoughtExchange to begin an online forum to share perspectives on the plan for the new school and students that will attend it, so that we may continue academic excellence for all children in our community.

You will be invited to participate in an Exchange that flows through three steps: Share, Star and Discover. You will receive an invitation to participate, but if you would like to pre-register, please click here.

On behalf of the students we serve, thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We believe that by inviting your input, the Board of Trustees will be able to make a decision about the future school site that best serves our community and our students.

Sincerely,

Jeff Baier, Superintendent

Thank you Los Altos Art Docents

The Los Altos Art Docents are 93 dedicated volunteers who have taught 801 art lessons to the elementary school children in the Los Altos School District. This year at Gardner, the docents taught 85 art lessons.

Thank you to Gardner Bullis parents Stephanie Dauer, Marion Goldman, Heather Johnson, Yuki Ranganathan and Bahareh Solook who contributed to the success of the Art Docent program this year and to Carolyn Pierce-Whang for firing all the clay pieces the students made.  Congratulations to our newest docent Vivian Hsiang for completing our training, look for her in the class more next year!

New docents are taught the LAAD lessons by experienced docents on Thursday mornings from September through March. The Los Altos Art Docents welcome new members to join the next docent-in-training class in the fall. Magical Playground Coin Drive

May 14-25, 2018. Help bring Magical Bridge Playground to Rengstorff Park

It takes a village to build a Magical Bridge Playground and we hope to inspire you to help bring inclusive-play to ALL our families! The entire Los Altos School District is participating in a COIN DRIVE (over the next couple weeks) to help support and fund Magical Bridge Playground coming to Mountain View.  In addition, we are hoping to encourage online donations, too.

The grade that raises the most money will “win” a private playdate at the NEW playground the week before it opens to the public.

Donate online at www.magicalbridge.org/gardnerbullis

Please join us for the district-wide 6th-grade CSTEM Showcase!  This is our 6th-graders' opportunity to show off their coding skills.
